This Isn't Just a Game. It's a Test.
Anyone can run. Anyone can hide. But can you aim, draw, and release while sprinting across an open field with arrows flying at you from every direction? Can you read the battlefield, anticipate your opponent's next move, and make your shot count — all while ducking behind a bunker with your heart pounding?
That's Archery Tag. And it's the most tactically demanding game Orbis Sports Canada offers.
Are your skills finely tuned enough for this?
What Is Archery Tag?
Archery Tag combines the precision of archery with the intensity of dodgeball and the strategy of team combat. Players use real recurve bows loaded with foam-tipped arrows to eliminate opponents, revive teammates, and capture objectives — all while navigating a battlefield of inflatable bunkers.
It's safe. It's fast. And it demands more from you than almost any other team sport.
Case Study: London Drugs Corporate Events Across Western Canada
One of our most exciting ongoing corporate partnerships has been with London Drugs — one of Western Canada's most recognized retail brands. Orbis Sports Canada has now delivered three of four planned corporate events for London Drugs teams across the region, including Edmonton area stores and their Kelowna location.
Each event brought London Drugs staff together for a high-energy Archery Tag experience that challenged their teamwork, communication, and competitive instincts in a way no office activity ever could.
Event 1 — The One That Started It All
Watch the video from our very first London Drugs event below — it captures exactly why Archery Tag is the perfect corporate team building activity:

Event 2 — Alberta Returns to the Battlefield
Our second London Drugs event brought the Alberta teams back for another round — and the competition was even fiercer. With experience from the first event under their belts, staff came ready to play. The image from this event says it all — full commitment, full energy, and a battlefield full of people who were absolutely locked in.
Event 3 — Kelowna Joins the Fight
The Kelowna London Drugs team brought Okanagan energy to the battlefield for our third event — proving that the competitive spirit runs just as strong in BC as it does in Alberta. With one more event still to come, the London Drugs series has become one of our most anticipated recurring corporate partnerships.
Three events down. One more to go. Which London Drugs team will claim the ultimate bragging rights?
The Skills That Separate the Good from the Great
🎯 Shooting on the Move
In Archery Tag, standing still is a death sentence. The best players learn to draw, aim, and release while running — a skill that takes real practice and body awareness to develop. Your feet are moving, your breathing is elevated, and you still need to put that arrow exactly where it needs to go.
👀 Reading the Battlefield
Where are your opponents? Who's reloading? Which bunker is exposed? Great Archery Tag players are constantly scanning, processing, and making split-second decisions. It's chess at full sprint.
🧱 Ducking, Weaving & Cover Management
Knowing when to move is just as important as knowing how to move. Timing your dash between bunkers, using cover effectively, and baiting opponents into wasting shots are all skills that separate beginners from veterans after just a few rounds.
🤝 Team Communication
Archery Tag is a team game at its core. Calling out opponent positions, coordinating simultaneous attacks, and covering teammates as they advance requires real-time communication under pressure. The teams that talk win.
💪 Composure Under Fire
It's one thing to shoot accurately at a stationary target. It's another thing entirely to nock an arrow, draw, and aim while someone is sprinting at you from the left and an arrow is already in the air from the right. Composure — the ability to slow your mind when everything around you is chaos — is the ultimate Archery Tag skill.
How a Round of Archery Tag Plays Out
Every round is different, but here's what a typical Archery Tag game looks like at an Orbis Sports Canada event:
- Teams take their positions on opposite sides of the inflatable bunker battlefield
- Arrows are scattered across the centre line — the opening rush to grab ammo sets the tone immediately
- Players eliminate opponents by hitting them with foam-tipped arrows
- Eliminated players can be revived by teammates catching an arrow mid-air or hitting a target
- The round ends when one team is fully eliminated or an objective is captured
- Rounds reset fast — and every game feels completely different from the last
Why Archery Tag Is the Ultimate Tactical Challenge
Laser Tag is fast and fun. Zorb Soccer is hilarious and physical. But Archery Tag sits in a category of its own because it demands the full package:
- ✅ Physical fitness — running, ducking, diving
- ✅ Fine motor skill — drawing and aiming under pressure
- ✅ Tactical thinking — reading the field and making decisions fast
- ✅ Team coordination — communicating and executing as a unit
- ✅ Mental composure — staying calm when the pressure is on
It's the game that rewards the players who bring their whole self to the battlefield.
